China Direct Industries, Inc. produces magnesium and distributes basic materials in the People's Republic of China (PRC). The company operates in three segments, Magnesium, Basic Materials, and Consulting. The Magnesium segment produces, sells, and distributes pure magnesium ingots, magnesium powders, granules, scraps, and magnesium alloys. The Basic Materials segment sells and distributes various products, including industrial grade synthetic chemicals, steel products, non-ferrous metals, recycled materials, and industrial commodities; and manufactures and distributes zinc concentrate. This segment also holds mining rights for a property containing zinc and lead ores covering approximately 51 acres located in the Yongshun Kaxi Lake Mining area of China; and operates an industrial commodity trading business. The Consulting segment provides a suite of consulting services to the U.S. public companies that operate primarily in China. It offers services in the areas of financing structures and arrangements, mergers, acquisitions and other business transactions, identifying potential areas of growth, translation services, managing and coordinating necessary government approvals and licenses in the PRC, marketing services, investor relations services, and coordination of the preparation of required SEC filings. The company was formerly known as China Direct, Inc. and changed its name to China Direct Industries, Inc. in March 2009. China Direct Industries, Inc. is headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
